Author warns of 'second Civil War'
if Obama loses... It seems that the final days of the presidential campaign have made Erica Jong and her friends more than a little anxious. A few days ago, Jong, the author and self-described feminist, gave an interview to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera... "If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets."
Obama boots pro-McCain
The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states -- and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president! McCain brings Joe the Plumber to the stump "Joe's my role model"
At an earlier event in Sandusky, McCain called him “the voice of small business, the voice of America, the voice and the strength and the courage of the United States of America and what the free enterprise system is all about, the hopes and dreams and aspirations.” McCain to appear on Saturday Night Live
McCain last appeared on SNL in May, after he became the Republican nominee. During that appearance, the candidate, 72, joked about his age, saying: "I ask you, what should we be looking for in our next president? Certainly, someone who is very, very, very old." ... McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, appeared on SNL two weeks ago with her satirical doppelganger, Tina Fey. That show won SNL its highest ratings in 14 years.

Palin: "Rousing speeches can fill
a stadium,"
“I think in this campaign a lot of Americans are realizing that a man can be admired in many ways, and he can show great promise, and yet still not be ready for the most important and demanding job in the world. Rousing speeches can fill a stadium, but perhaps cannot keep this country safe though. For a season, a man can inspire with his words. But for a lifetime, John McCain has inspired with his heroic and trustworthy deeds.”

Podhoretz: 10 reasons why McCain might win "It’s admittedly not the strongest case, and the idea that McCain will win on Tuesday is hard to square with the fact there isn’t a single poll that has him in the lead five days out. But unexpected things do happen in politics every election..."
Barack Obama & Joe Biden... today's headlines with excerpts' 30-minute Obamamercial: a flop with critics, ratings When one program dominates its time slot by simulcasting on five different networks, the producers obviously intend on making it must-see TV. Obama colleague Ayers dedicated book to RFK assassin "Hannity & Colmes" co-host Sean Hannity said the book, which Ayers co-wrote with his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, in 1974, includes about 100 or so names described as "political prisoners in the U.S." on the dedication page. Among those is [Robert Kennedy Jr.'s assassin] Sirhan. "That's right," Hannity said. "This college professor, who is just a guy from the neighborhood who never meant to hurt anybody, who bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, New York City police headquarters, dedicated his book to the man who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy."
