 QUOTABLES:

"The idea that somehow we could pull back and simply sit behind our oceans and not aggressively be going after the terrorists and those who sponsor terrorists, I think misreads the situation completely," Dick Cheney said. (9/29/2004)

"I fulfilled my duty, and was honorably discharged. I think I had about five hundred and seventy flying hours, and . . . I was on active duty for a little over a year and a half and I proudly served," President Bush said. "I did exactly what my commanders told me to do." (9/29/2004)

"The question is, is the President finally going to come clean and tell the American people the truth about what's going on in Iraq," John Edwards told radio talk show host Don Imus. "It will be interesting to see whether he keeps trying to say everything is going well, because everyone knows that's not true."  (9/29/2004)

BUSH BEAT

Catholics back Bush

Sen. John Kerry may be shifting the Catholic vote permanently into the Republican column. Not since Ronald Reagan beat President Jimmy Carter will a Republican garner more Catholic votes than President Bush.

Sen. John Kerry, who is Catholic, led President Bush, a Methodist, by 48 percent to 43 percent among Catholics. Today, the ratio has changed to 53 percent to 36 percent in Mr. Bush's favor, reports Barna, which specializes in religious polling.

 Just POlitics

Billionaire lament

Billionaire George Soros is afraid his millions in contributions to defeat President Bush are not working. So, he is canceling a trip to Russia, throwing in a few more million dollars and is taking to the stump himself.

When Soros was asked about spending millions to defeat Bush after spending millions to keep money out of politics, he replied, “I play by the rules that prevail. I've got a bevy of lawyers making sure that I do. At the same time, I'm in favor of improving the rules."

Soros may need more than lawyers before this is all over. He may need to realize that the world does not exist according to his theories.

Wrong ground, dudes

Sun-Tzu in "The Art of War" states that is wrong to fight on bad ground. Sen. John Edwards campaigning in ‘Blue state’ New Jersey demonstrates that the Kerry-Edwards campaign is campaigning on bad ground. If Kerry is to win, he must be campaigning in red states -- not blue states. Just how bad off the Kerry campaign is can been seen in the fact that Kerry is parked in Blue state Wisconsin and Edwards is campaigning in New Jersey.

Al Gore won New Jersey in the 2000 election by 16 percentage points.

Old media’s death?

Barbara Streisand is bemoaning that the old media no longer gets away with only pushing one philosophy down the throats of the public. Streisand has sent an op-ed piece to the LA Times suggesting that dissenting views are no longer followed with the same single minded belief as in the past.

The interpretation is that CBS, which equals ‘Can’t Believe Stories,’ and other old media are no longer the only source of news. Or, we could say that one philosophically liberal interpretation of what is truth no longer exists.

Kerry hurting Democrats

The Associated Press is reporting that Kerry’s candidacy is hurting other Democrat candidates. The chances of Democrats winning are fading with the Kerry debacle that is currently unfolding. No one wants to call it over until after the debates. However, even Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle is seen in his own commercials hugging President Bush. There are no such commercials with Daschle and Kerry.

The lie gameor, al Qaida doesn’t exist

Editorial by: Roger Wm. Hughes

Sen. John Kerry’s campaign continues to try and push the myth that Iraq and al Qaida have no connection. Even the 9-11 Commission said there is a connection. They did say that there is no evidence of a direct connection between Iraq and the 9-11 incident, however.

Kerry recently said on ABC news, "We should not have gone to war knowing the information that we know today," Kerry told ABC. "Knowing there was no imminent threat to America, knowing there were no weapons of mass destruction, knowing there was no connection of Saddam Hussein to al Qaida, I would not have gone to war. That's plain and simple."

It is plain and simple that Kerry would have left Iraq as a safe haven for terrorists and the transfer of if - not chemical weapons - at least access to scientists who could teach terrorists how to make chemical weapons. Kerry would have left in place Saddam Hussein who through the U.N. Food For Peace Program was taking in $10 billion in kickbacks from France, Germany and Russia to just name a few. He would have allowed that $10 billion to be used to by Hussein to achieve his avowed goal of destroying America. Kerry would discount the number of al Qaida trained operatives who were and still are in Iraq... operatives who personally have beheaded Americans.

Kerry wonders why he is viewed as a weak, effeminate, useless male who is incapable of defending America. Gee, I wonder why...

Moore protest

Minnesota College Republicans are fighting any attempt by University of Minnesota officials to bring Michael Moore to campus for an anti-Bush rally.

College Republicans said they were responding to news reports that university officials are negotiating to bring Mr. Moore to campus as part of his "Slacker Uprising Tour" in support of Sen. John Kerry.

"University of Minnesota students and Minnesota taxpayers shouldn't be forced to foot the bill to bring this partisan hack, Michael Moore, into town to campaign for John Kerry just days before the election," said Jake Grassel, chairman of Minnesota College Republicans. "Michael Moore should be free to spout his partisan and vile hate speech, but the rest of us shouldn't be forced to pay for it."

Jackson’s action

According to the Associated Press, civil rights activist Jesse Jackson joined the campaign of Sen. John Kerry on Wednesday as a poll showed support for the presidential candidate slipping among black Americans, a critical Democratic constituency.

The Pew Research Center said Tuesday its latest poll showed 73 percent of blacks supporting Kerry compared to 12 percent supporting President Bush. In 2000, Al Gore won 90 percent of the black vote.
